It’s been a busy week. I submitted the final fixes for my newest lynda.com course this week. It should be out very soon. It’s a sequel to my previous course, Blender Game Asset Sculpting. In this one we’ll be using Blender’s texture painting tools to create a color map for the game object, to go along with the normal and ambient occlusion maps from the sculpting course. I created a war hammer for these courses, and I’ll also be using it for my goblin game character on Youtube.
And I started creating a Blender Motorcycle Modeling course this week. The Harley-Davidson museum here in town has one of the motorcycles they used in the first Captain America film. So I went there and took lots of reference images. We’ll be creating Captain America’s motorcycle in the course, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m just finishing up the frame today.
In addition, I’ve started creating an Intro to Blender Modeling course. I’m calling it Blender101. It goes over the fundamental concepts and tools of 3D modeling. I’ve taught this course more than a dozen times in college classroom settings and I’ve got some great ideas for the online course.
Have a great weekend everyone!
